Feb. 6             Since writing the above, I have be on three trips to San Antonio River

[37]pastors.  One with McCoy s’ Buggy & two with John’s Cart.  Have been up at the Sheep Camp and find that Severino is very Discontent.  He wants another raise.  Came home yesterday.  Went out this Morning and found [38]Pilon.  Got her, being the first young Calf, this year.  Has tried to rain this morning, two or three times.

 

March 12        Branded

                        1824 Ewes & Wedders

                        1 Heifer Calf, 2 Bull Calves, 3 Total Calves

 

May 16           Left the Motts, about 2 o’clock with Mr. Adams with part of my furniture

and little cistern in Mr. Gibbs  Wagon for Mr. Russell’s house on the “Barbon”.  Got up to the flat below Mr. Scotts, where we camped.

 

May 17           Left in good time and got to Russell’s house about Sun down where Wm.

Gibbs  joined us and helped to unload the Wagon.

 

May 18          Wm. Gibbs  went to seek his filly which Adams had seen on

                       the way up and Adams left for his sheep Camp.  I went to work fixing the

                       house which was in very bad state.

 

May 19 & 20  Still at work fixing the house.  Mr. Bryden arrived a little before Sun

                        down with Mr. Robinson and Lizzie with the children.

 

June 14           Mr. Adam’s’ Bucks & Wedders got in to my Flock.  Got them out again

on the 17th so that I may expect 3 days lambing in November, about 8th.

 

June 24           Mr. Taylor  came to see me about Shearing.  I promised to go and see

Bryden next day.

 

June 26           Got a raw hide rope from a yearling which someone had roped and lost.

 

Oct. 4              Put 26 Buck with the Flock

 

Oct. 10            Counted the Sheep with the help of Mr. Smith – 1,997.

                        Dollars worth of Black Flax thread for Self.  5 yds. Flannel, 10 yds. Red, 1 Pair of

                        Shoes for Mr. Wade. 5 Dollars of Soda 1 Pair of Womens Shoes. No. 5, 1 lb. Cream

                        of Tartar. The Balance of 16 Dollars in Tea.

 

Oct. 3              (Friday)  Lizzy went to Kinghorns and ordered 3 Doz. Matches

 

Oct. 6              (Monday)  Lizzy gave Kinghorn one Dollar in Silver for Matches.
