    Josiah N. Armstrong

    A marriage license was issued to Josiah A. Armstrong and Mary J. Millard on October 12, 1847 in St. Mary's County.  Source:  Marriage Licenses, 1794-1900 of St. Mary's County, Maryland transcribed from the records of the Circuit Court, Leonardtown, Maryland.     Additional biographical information on Josiah N. Armstrong. Josiah's wife, Mary Joanna Millard, was a sister of Rebecca Millard Britton, wife of Forbes Britton.  Josiah and Mary Armstrong moved to Corpus Christi and were said to live in Centennial House with the Brittons.  Mary Armstrong is recorded as the winner of a prize for her embroidery at Corpus Christi's  Lone Star State Fair in 1872.  Josiah N. Armstrong was the son of Robert Armstrong and Margaret Dysart, a couple very prominent in Tennessee.

    Josiah N. Armstrong

    Killed-----Mr. J. N. Armstrong, son of Gen. Robert Armstrong, formerly of Nashville, Tennessee, was thrown from his horse on the 9th, ins., near Corpus Christi, and killed.
