1. News item, 1907

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Couling, of Comfort, arrived here this week on a visit to relatives.  Mrs. Couling will remain here several weeks, but Mr. Couling, who has been with the Sap road for 18 years, returns home this evening.

2. Obituary

Death of Fred Cooling

The sad news of the death of Fred Cooling, for many years a resident of Nueces county, was received in Corpus Christi Saturday form Comfort, northwest of San Antonio.  Mr. Cooling died at 1:35 p.m., Aug. 12, at his home in Comfort, where he had been employed as section foreman for the S.A. and A.P. Railway for twenty years or more.  He was a native of England and came to this country when a young man, having a brother, Sam Cooling, residing at Nuecestown.
