Death of An Old Resident
Miss Josephine Davis, one of Nueces oldest and most respected citizens, passed away in the home of her only sister, Mrs. Halsey, Wednesday morning, February 1, 1911 at 5:00 o’clock in Alice. ______ Miss Davis was born in New Orleans February 19, 1836. ______ In 1846 she moved to Texas, first to Houston then to Victoria. In 1854 she came to Nueces County and lived near Bluntzer. _______ last 10 years in Alice. ______ brought to Corpus Christi by Texas-Mexican Rail Road ______ buried in “old cemeteryâ€
