Obituary

DIED

FITCH-In this city, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1887 at 12:30 a.m., of diphtheria, Samuel Fitch, son of John and Avey Fitch, aged 6 years, 3 months and 6 days. Mrs. Fitch arrived here with her son on Monday night’s train from her home in the country and was met at the depot by a physician and kind friends, but the dreadful disease could not be stayed and the poor boy only lived a few hours after their arrival here. The funeral took place from the residence of Mrs. Byington, Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Fitch arrived __________ night from the ranch. The afflicted family have the heartfelt sympathies of their many friends in Corpus Christi.
