1.  Obituary

DEATH OF ANOTHER PIONEER
Mrs. Fannie Wetmore Greer, relect of the late John S Greer, born in Wayne county, Michigan, March 2, 1821, (aged over 85 years) died at her home on South Bluff in this city yesterday at 6 o’clock. In the death of this estimable lady, Corpus Christi loses another of its pioneer citizens, as deceased had resided here many years. Her husband, John S. Greer, preceded her to the grave about 20 years ago. Deceased came to Corpus Christi over half a century ago when a young lady and was here during the winter of General Taylor’s occupation of Corpus Christi in 1845. She leaves to mourn her loss one niece, three nephews and a number of grand nieces and nephews, among the grand nieces being Mrs. G. A. Blucher of this city, and also 2 grandnieces and 3 grand nephews in the Crawford family. She also leaves thirteen great grand nieces and nephews many of them here. Capt. Geo. Greer is a brother-in-law of deceased. The funeral took place from her late family residence of South bluff this morning at 10 o’clock the obsequies conducted by Rev. A. J. Holworthy of the Episcopal church, interment in old Bayview cemetery.

2.  Obituary

Mrs. Fannie Greer died at her home on South Bluff yesterday morning at six o’clock, at the age of 85 years.  For over fifty years this estimable lady had been associated with the best life of this city.  She was related to Mrs. Geo. Von Blucher, and the family of Mr. J. M. Crawford, and Capt. George Greer is a brother of her husband who died here about twenty years ago.  Rev. A. J. Holworthy conducted the funeral services this morning at ten o’clock.
