Obituary

Mrs. Mary Guilmenot, Negro woman, a long-time resident of Corpus Christi, died Tuesday afternoon at her home, 923 North Tancahua Street. She was born in Matagorda, Texas, and left there while she was young, moving to Indianola, Texas.  From there she came to Corpus Christi where she married George Guilmenot.

Survivors include one son, George Guilmenot, Jr.; two daughters, Clementine Guilmenot and Nellie Guilmenot Hillard; two brothers, Jackson Riley of Corpus Christi and Alex Riley of Bay city; one great-grandniece, Mary Laura Hawkins of Corpus Christi; six nephews, the Rev. Richard Page and Robert Page of Bay City, Tom Page and Alex Page of Galveston, Jackson Riley, Jr. of Milwaukee, Wis., and Arthur Brown of Brazoria, and five nieces, Ella Johnson and Anaguay Spiller of Bay city and Susan Tonsular, Clottie Mathews and Lucinda White of Houston.

Funeral arrangements, in charge of W. E. Jackson Funeral Home, are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mary Guilmenot, negro woman who died Tuesday at her home, 913 North Tancahua Streeet, will be held at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon in the Congregational Church with Spurgeon Jay Mayfield, pastor officiating.

Survivors include one son, George Guilmenot, Jr.; two daughters, Clementine Guilmenot and Nellie Guilmenot Hillard; two brothers, Jackson Riley of Corpus Christi and Alex Riley of Bay city; one great-grandniece, Mary Laura Hawkins of Corpus Christi; six nephews, the Rev. Richard Page and Robert Page of Bay City, Tom Page and Alex Page of Galveston, Jackson Riley, Jr. of Milwaukee, Wis., and Arthur Brown of Brazoria, and five nieces. Burial will be in Cemetery Beautiful on Ramirez Street under the direction of W. e. Jackson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mary Guilmenot, negro woman who has been a resident of Corpus Christi for many years, will be held at 2:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon in the Congregational Church with Spurgeon Jay Mayfield, pastor, officiating.

The woman died Tuesday afternoon at her home, 923 North Tancahua Street.  She was born in Matagorda, moved to Indianola when she was a young girl, and later came to Corpus Christi.

She is survived by one son, two daughters, two brothers, a great-grand niece, six nephews and five nieces.

Burial will be in Cemetery Beautiful on Ramirez Street under direction of the W. E. Jackson Funeral Home.
