Obituary
DIED, HANNELLY — In this city at 10 a.m., Friday, May 27, 1887, DR. T. C. HANNELLY, of San Diego. Aged 34 years.
The death of this well known gentleman occurred suddenly and under sad circumstances. The doctor was apparently as well as usual Friday morning of last week an hour before death, when he was down town talking pleasantly with friends. Later he was seen walking in the direction of the reef, presumably for a morning stroll. Not returning from dinner or supper his friends became much alarmed at an absence that could not be accounted for. Search was made during the night and continued the next morning till about eight o'clock when he was found lying on the ground dead near the powder house just north of the city. An examination by physicians showed dea6th caused by apoplexy. Dr. Hannelly was a citizen of San Diego and a member of the medical firm of Wright & Hannelly. He was highly esteemed by all who knew him. Hi sudden and untimely death was a severe shock to his loving wife and numerous friends, with whom the Caller sincerely sympathizes in their bereavement.
The funeral took place from the residence of Mrs. Elizabeth Merriman Saturday, May 25, at 5 p.m. and was largely attended by friends and acquaintances in this city.
