Biography and Obituary

According to Probate Records of Nueces County, volume C page 205, R. B. Hart died on June 5, 1877 at about the age of 50.  His case #295 states that he had no will and that his heirs are non-residents.  These heirs are listed in vol. E page 90 as Wm. Hart, Rebecca Hart, Susanna Hart, Mason Hart, Mrs. F. L. Byden, Eliza J. Campbell, Chas. C. Campbell, Allen A. Campbell, Susan Campbell Smith (wife of L. R. Smith), and Mary Kimler (wife of Charles Kimler.  The obit of a “Bob Hart†(presumably Robert B. Hart) is found in the June 9, 1877 issue of the Weekly Gazette.  The microfilm copy is difficult to read, but the following appears to be the text.

“Released By Deathâ€

Death kindly released Bob Hart of his sufferings on Saturday night.  Quite a number of our citizens attended him at the residence on Sunday. (Corpus Christi Weekly Gazette, 9 June 1877, page 3 column 1)
