Death of Mrs. C. E. Leonard
Mrs. Caroline Eustis Leonard, a native of Pennsylvania, who was in her 83 year, died at the home of Dr. H. S. Burke in this city at 8:30 Wednesday morning.
Deceased was well known in this city as she had her home here almost continuously for over 20 years. She went to New Orleans in her maidenhood days was married there and spent most of her wedded life in the Crescent City. She then returned to Pennsylvania, from which place she came to Corpus Christi. Several years ago she accompanied the family of her brother, the late F. E. Wells, to Waco. After death of her brother and niece, Mrs. J. R. Spann, she returned here with Mrs. F. E. Wells to make her home. For the last year or two, being an invalid and in feeble health, she made her home with Dr. Burke and mother and received the best possible attention. Mrs. Leonard was a fine intelligent and pleasant lady and was a member of the Episcopal church, from which place the funeral took place to old Bayview cemetery at 3:30 Wednesday. She leaves a little grand niece in this city and grand nephew in Waco, the children of Mr. J. R. Spann.
