Obituary

Death of Miss Mary J. Littig
The many friends in this city of Miss Mary J. Littig were grieved to learn of her death, which occurred at home on the Bluff Sunday morning at 2 o’clock after, only a week’s illness. Miss Littig was born on the Navidad river, this state, on February 25, 1845. Deceased came to Corpus Christi with her father about the year 1852 and with the exception of a few years spent at Nuecestown, this county, has resided here ever since. She was a good woman and a strict member of the Episcopal church, having attended serves __________ before her death. Besides her stepmother, Mrs. Littig, she is survived by a half-sister and half-brother. Mrs. Wright and Wells B. Littig, all of whom have the sympathies of their many friends. The Funeral took place from the residence to old Bayview cemetery at 10:30 o’clock on Monday, services being conducted by Rev. A. J. Holworthy and the remains being laid to rest by the side of those of her father, who preceded her to the grave many years ago.
