Obituary
John Henry Lucas was born in Corpus Christi on Dec. 3 1872, and had lived here until he moved to Beaumont about five years ago. He there married and became the father of two children. H is mother, Mrs. Annie Lucas, made her home with him. He made a visit here about two years ago and many friends of the popular and manly engineer were glad to know that he prospered. He died of typhoid fever at Beaumont on Saturday morning, May 16, 1903, and the remains were brought here and interred in Old Bay View cemetery last Sunday. The local K. of P. conducted the funeral and the Fire Department attended it. Beside the relatives mentioned in deceased is mourned by one sister, Mrs. E. Gibbon of this city.
