HYMENEAL
Magnenat- Daimwood
A pretty wedding took place at the Presbyterian church in this city on Thursday evening at 2 o’clock, when Rev. Mr. Hudson pronounced the solemn words which united in the holy bonds of matrimony Mr. Frederick Louis Magnenat and Miss Ida Gertrude Daimwood, two of Corpus Christi’s popular young society people. A large number of invited friends of the contracting parties witnessed the ceremony, the attendants being Miss Amelia Daimwood as maid of honor and Mr. Van W. Hopkins as best man illegible.
The marriage ceremony was beautiful and impressive, the bride having entered the church from the east door, on the arm of her uncle, Mr. C. A. Meuly, who gave her away, while the groom and best man awaited them at the chancel railing. The wedding march on the entering and leaving the church was played by Mrs. Joshua S. Smith—the church was handsomely decorated for the grand event.
After the ceremony the happy couple, accompanied by a number of friends returned to the home of the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. M. Meuly, where the wedding repast was served, following which the couple repaired to the Aransas Pass depot, where, amid a shower of rice and good wishes, they took the 6 o’clock train for Galveston and other points on a bridal tour of several weeks. They will return to make their home in Corpus Christi.
The bride is one of Corpus Christi’s most popular young ladies, being a granddaughter of Mrs. M. Meuly, while the groom is a well known young man who holds a responsible position with the hardware store of Mr. E.H. Caldwell.
