Obituraries

While driving home Friday evening Miss Jessie McKenzie came near meeting with a  serious accident.  Another vehicle collided with her buggy, throwing her to the ground and bruising her up considerably.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Rankin McLaughlin, 79, of 102 Carroll, who died in a local hospital yesterday morning after a brief illness, will be held at 3 p.m. today in Cage-Mills Chapel.  Dr. S. Evans Brown, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate and burial will be in Old Bayview Cemetery.  The service previously was set for 4 p.m. Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Corpus Christi July 13, 1873, and had lived here all her life.  Her husband, William Edward McLaughlin, a retired banker of Ralls, Texas, died here last year.  She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Kate McElroy of Corpus Christi, and several cousins.
