A Pioneer Resident Dead
Louisa Morris, Colored, Came to Nueces County in 1858—Well Known Character
Louis Morris, a colored woman 82 years old, well known to all of the older residents of Nueces county, and herself a pioneer, died last night at the home of her son-in-law, Walter Chapman, who resides sixteen miles west of the city near Nuecestown. She was well liked by all who knew her and was a characteristic figure here since 1858.
The deceased is survived by nine children and fifty-two grandchildren and great grandchildren. Interment will be made in Old Bayview Cemetery at 4 o'clock this afternoon.
