NOTE:  This is the daughter in law of B. F. Neal.  Married his son, Arthur.  Dates on stone appear to be incorrect or at least don’t agree with obit.  Dates may be incorrect.


Mrs. Mary C. Neal Dies at Portland

Pioneer South Texan was 91:  Funeral Rites Here Today

Mrs. Mary Catherine Neal, 91 pioneer South Texas resident, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leonard Hall, in Portland yesterday shortly after noon.

Mrs. Neal was born in San Augustine May 3, 1843 and came to Corpus Christi in 1857.  June 2, 1866, she was married to the late Arthur H. Neal here.

Mrs. Neal is survived by five of her 10 children.  They are Mrs. Leonard Hall of Portland, Mrs. Ella Donnell of Galveston, Arthur H. Neal of Kingsville; and B. T. Neal and George W. Neal of Galveston.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o’clock this afternoon from the Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Home, and burial will be in the old Bayview Cemetery with the Rev. Edgar Ratliff officiating

Mrs. Mary Catherine Neal

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Catherine Neal, 91, pioneer South Texas resident who died yesterday afternoon in Portland at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leonard Hall, where scheduled for 4 o’clock this afternoon at the Maxwell P. Dunne funeral chapel.  Services were to be conducted by the Rev. Edgar Ratliff.

Mrs. Neal was born May 3, 1848 in San Augustine.  She came to Corpus Christi in 1857 and was married to the late Arthur H. Neal here on June 2, 1866.

Surviving are two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Leonard Hall of Portland, Mrs. Ella Donnell of Galveston, Arthur Neal of Kingsville and B. T. Neal and George w. Neal of Galveston.

Burial was to be in Bayview Cemetery.
