WEBER – In this city, Thursday, February 17, 1887, at 9:30 a.m., L. Weber. Born in Germany January 1, 1828.
The death of Mr. Weber was most sudden and, of course, a great shock to his family and friends. He was engaged on some work for the Werner property Thursday morning, and about half past nine o'clock sat down to rest; was in the act of lighting his pipe when he was noticed to fall over. Life was extinct when assistance reached him. Physicians pronounced the death caused by apoplexy, Mr. Weber had complained before beginning work that he was feeling unwell, and was urged to postpone the job till he felt better. Having been a healthy man all his life, he thought nothing of the warning. He has been a resident of Corpus for many years and was highly respected. He leaves a wife and other relatives in the city to mourn his loss. The funeral took place from the Werner building Friday morning at 10 o'clock and was largely attended.
