DIED

Werner- In this city, Tuesday morning Feb. 14, 1899, at 4:00 o'clock, Mrs. Rosalie Werner, a native of Saxony, Germany, aged 66 years.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Rosalie Vetters, came to Corpus Christi with her parents about the year 1850.  About two years after she married a jeweler by the name of Guchion, who went to New Orleans, where he died of Yellow Fever.  She then married Mr. Julius Henry.  After the war, a divorce was obtained and some years later she married Mr. Chris Werner, whose mind became deranged about twelve years ago and he had to be sent to the asylum at San Antonio, where he is now confined, with little hope of recovery.

Mrs. Werner, who was a good business woman in her younger days, but who was an invalid for the past ten years of her life, lived to herself on her own property on Chaparral street, opposite Gussett's bank, Mrs. Vetters, her sister-in-law, attending her in her last illness.

Her funeral took place Wednesday forenoon from her late residence, the service being conducted by Re. S. E. Chandler and the remains interred by the side of her parents in the old cemetery.  Deceased, who had no children, is said to have made a will about ten years ago.
