DEATH OF MISS WRATHER
Another good and noble lady has thrown aside the mantle of mortality and entered within the pale of that realm where the righteous on earth shall sleep eternal when one's soul shall have taken flight from its citadel of earthly pain. Those who knew her can testify to her noble, generous and charitable character toward those around her, as well as they who needed aid- a life worthy of exemplification. Such a one was Miss Hettie Lousia Wrather, who passed away at her home in this city at 8:15 Wednesday. Deceased, who was a daughter of Mrs. Mary Wrather, was born in Corpus Christi on Mar. 29, 1866, and for two years past had been in impaired health on account of lung trouble, while she had been confined to her bed since July 4. Like the good Christian life she lived, she bore her sufferings patiently and was prepared for the last summons, which had been expected for several weeks. The father and two brothers preceded her to eternal rest some years ago. Besides her mother, she leaves one brother, George Wrather, and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Anderson, of this city, and Mrs. John Clark, of Rockport, all of whom were at her bedside to mourn their loss. The funeral took place from the Episcopal church at 5 o'clock on yesterday interment to be in old Bay View cemetery by the side of the remains of those who have gone before. To the grief-stricken family the sincere sympathy of many friends go out and even though words of sympathy can not assuage the poignant grief that wounds their hearts, such expressions is but a manifestation of the high esteem in which she was held by her legions of friends.
